Stampede Set for Home-and-Home with Lancers

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Stampede are gearing up for a home-and-home series against the Omaha Lancers, beginning Friday night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The series opener will feature Nostalgia Night, presented by Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop, celebrating the best of the '90s and '00s with themed music, trivia, and fun throwbacks.

The Stampede enter the fourth week of the 2025 season with a 3-2-0-0 record after splitting their games last weekend. On Friday, Sioux Falls dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker in Sioux City. After falling behind 3-1, the Herd rallied with two late goals in the second period to tie the game. The Musketeers regained the lead midway through the third and added an empty-netter to secure the win. Forward Joey Macrina notched his first United States Hockey League (USHL) goal in the final 10 seconds of the game.

The Herd rebounded on Saturday in their Home Opener with a convincing 4-1 win over the Tri-City Storm. Despite giving up the opening goal in the first period, Adyn Merrick evened the score midway through the second by crashing the net and slipping the puck five-hole past the Storm goaltender. The Stampede dominated the third period, with Cooper Soller scoring twice and Nick Snyder recording his first USHL goal, sealing Sioux Falls' first home victory of 2025.

The Omaha Lancers currently sit seventh in the Western Conference with a 1-5-0-0 record. Last weekend, they dropped both games of their series in Dubuque, falling 3-2 and 9-1 to the Fighting Saints. On Friday, the Lancers battled back from an early deficit to tie the game before Dubuque reclaimed the lead in the second period and held on for the win. Saturday's rematch was all Saints, as Dubuque built a 5-1 advantage through two periods and cruised to victory, extending Omaha's losing streak to five games.

Last season, Sioux Falls dominated the season series against Omaha, earning points in all seven matchups. The Herd went 4-0 on the road and 2-0-1 at home, with the Lancers' lone win coming in overtime last November at the PREMIER Center.

The two teams meet for the first time this season on Friday at 7:05 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to embrace their best 90s and 00s vibes during Nostalgia Night presented by Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop. Tickets for the game are available here.
