Sioux Falls Stampede Beat Lincoln Stars 4-1

Mischief Managed As Stampede Stifle Stars, 4-1

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —Tuesday night hockey hit the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center this week, and the Sioux Falls Stampede got things started early on the scoresheet while Ryan Cameron held things down in the blue paint, stifling the Lincoln Stars offense.

Taking a penalty 59 seconds into the game could give one the impression that the Stampede were in for a rough night, but just seven seconds into the penalty kill, Max Davis picked up a short-handed tally for his second goal of the season in as many games. Gavin Clark would follow up in the middle of the period with his own second of the season 13:52 into period one. In a familiar situation, the Stampede would allow a late goal to end the first, as Lincoln's Casey Vandertop would find the back of the net on the power play with 52 seconds to go in the opening 20 minutes.

Cooper Soller continued to display his scoring ability with a power-play marker 6:31 into the second period, putting the Herd up 3-1. In the last four games, Soller has picked up five goals and two assists, including his first USHL hat trick on Saturday night.

The third period saw Gavin Clark pick up his second of the night at 9:55, effectively ending Lincoln's night. Sioux Falls would keep up the pressure and continue getting a strong performance from Cameron until the final horn.

In the Stampede net Cameron stopped 20-of-21 shots, while in the losing net Lukas Stuhrmann made 35 saves on 39 shots for the Stars.
