Stampede Stymied By Lancers, Shutout 6-0

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — It was a tough night for the Sioux Falls Stampede on Saturday, as the Herd fell to the Omaha Lancers in a 6-0 shutout. Head coach Ryan Cruthers spoke in the morning about how a veteran-heavy Omaha team would be a challenge for his team, despite where both teams are found in the standings.

The first period would come oh so close to ending with a 0-0 score, but with just 1:51 remaining in the opening 20 minutes of play, Yegor Kim would put one in the back of the net behind Ryan Cameron and the period would come to a close with the Lancers holding a 1-0 lead. They wouldn't look back.

Tanner Morgan would pick up his first of the season 11:07 into the second period, with Carter Fogarty making it a 3-0 lead for the Lancers with his first USHL goal just 57 seconds later.

Period three would get an early one from Omaha's Rylan Bydal, 51 seconds into the game while Ryder Reynolds would end Cameron's night with his first of the year, making it a 5-0 Lancers lead with 15:51 remaining in regulation. 1:52 later, Bydal would beat Ivans Kufterins for his second of the night, the final blow in the 6-0 Stampede loss,

Cameron would finish the night stopping 21-of-26 shots from the Omaha Lancers in the loss, while Kufterins make 8 saves on 9 shots in relief. For the Lancers, Anthony Sciere would stop all 43 shots he faced in the Omaha net, picking up his third win of the season.

The Herd now turn to a Sunday home tilt against the Fargo Force for Non-Profit Night, presented by Bluestone Federal Credit Union. Doors open at 4 PM CT, with puck drop set for 5:05 PM CT. Participate in the Passport Challenge presented by Bluestone FCU at the game.
