Ben Bugge, a native of West Windsor, New Jersey joins the Stampede after spending the 2023 - 2024 season as an Assistant Coach of Castleton University’s NCAA Division III program in Castleton, Vermont. While at Castleton, Bugge developed an all-New England Hockey Conference award recipient and was responsible for creating pre-scout packages and coaching the forwards and power play units. He was also in charge of leading individual, positional, and team practices and video sessions. Bugge assisted in recruiting within the United States, Canada, and Europe, helped with travel and transportation logistics, and led pre-scout video sessions. He also played a key role in spearheading community outreach initiatives.
Prior to the move to Sioux Falls, Bugge served as a Head Varsity ice hockey coach and a Head Tier I coach with the Mercer Chiefs organization in his home state of New Jersey. Throughout his time coaching high school hockey in NJ, Bugge developed one player who was selected to the All-State Team and two players who were selected as NJ.com Conference Players of the Year.
Bugge played Tier I hockey in his home state of New Jersey for the New Jersey Titans and Mercer Chiefs organizations and currently holds the USA Hockey Level V Coaching Certification.
