Brandon Wildung

Brandon Wildung, a native of Nassau, Minnesota, has built a distinguished career in hockey as both a standout goaltender and a dedicated coach. A four-year starter at Mercyhurst University (NCAA Division I), Wildung helped lead the Lakers to an Atlantic Hockey regular-season championship. Over his collegiate career, he recorded 3,037 saves, six shutouts, and five assists in 103 games.  His performance earned him numerous accolades, including Atlantic Hockey Second-Team honors, two Team MVP awards, Mercyhurst Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and a spot on the All-AHC Tournament Team. Wildung’s 50 career wins rank fourth all-time in Atlantic Hockey history.

Following his collegiate career, Wildung played professionally in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) before transitioning into coaching. He began his coaching journey with the Sioux Falls Power AAA program and later joined the Augustana University Vikings (NCAA Division I) as an Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach. Currently, Wildung serves as the Associate Head Coach and Goalie Coach of the Sioux Falls Stampede, marking his fifth season with the organization.

In addition to his work behind the bench, Wildung has trained goaltenders at the NHL and collegiate levels during the offseason. His dedication to player development and attention to detail also earned him the opportunity to represent the United States as an assistant coach for the U.S. Junior Select Team at the 2024 World Junior A Challenge and win a Gold medal.
