Ray Sylvester is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and brings a championship background to the Sioux Falls Stampede. Sylvester enters his second season on the Stampede coaching staff this year.
In 2018 Ray began his career as a student assistant video coach for the Robert Morris Colonials NCAA Division 1 program. Ray became the head video coach for the Colonials for the 2019-2020 season. Following his time at RMU, Ray was hired by the Charlotte Rush of the USPHL as their head video coach. That season he captured two National Championships with both their Elite and Premier teams. In the spring that same season, Ray was hired as the video coordinator with Roc City Elite at the World Youth Classic. Roc City won gold at the U16 level, giving Sylvester his third championship of the season. During the 2021-22 season with the Charlotte Rush, he was promoted to video coach/hockey operations coordinator. The teams went on to capture an Elite Regular Season Championship as well as a Premier Divisional Championship.
