SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today that the team has traded defenseman Nicklas Nelson to the Des Moines Buccaneers in exchange for forward Henry Major.

Nelson, a returning member of the 2025-26 Clark Cup championship roster, appeared in one game for the Stampede this season, picking up one assist. Last season, Nelson appeared in five regular-season games for the Herd, registering one assist, and one playoff game in the Western Conference Finals. The Stampede would like to thank Nelson for his time in Sioux Falls and wish him the best with the rest of his career.
Joining the Herd ahead of the weekend's games, Henry Major has appeared in 116 regular-season USHL games between the Chicago Steel and Des Moines Buccaneers over the last two seasons. This year, with the Buccaneers, Major has one assist and 10 penalty minutes through five games.
The 2007-born forward out of Skaneateles, NY is committed to Cornell University for the 2027-28 season.
