Sioux Falls, SD — For the first time since the 2012–13 season, the Sioux Falls Stampede have claimed the regular-season Western Conference championship. The Herd secured the title Wednesday night after the Fargo Force fell 5–1 to the Sioux City Musketeers. It marks just the third time in franchise history that Sioux Falls will finish the regular season in first place.
The Stampede have also secured the number one overall seed in the Western Conference for the 2026 Clark Cup Playoffs and will hold home-ice advantage through the Western Conference Final. The team has already earned a first-round bye and will host Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on April 17 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
With four games remaining in the regular season, the Stampede hold a 41-15-2 record with 84 points. Sioux Falls currently trails the Youngstown Phantoms by three points—with a game in hand—in the race for the Anderson Cup, awarded to the team with the most points in the regular season.
The Herd have surpassed 40 wins for just the third time in franchise history and are riding a nine-game winning streak. Since early January, the Stampede have gone 21-5-0 and have held first place for nearly the entire stretch.
Sioux Falls returns to action Thursday night in Omaha at 7:05 p.m. before closing out the regular season with three home games next week: March 31 against the Des Moines Buccaneers and April 3–4 versus the Waterloo Black Hawks.
April 3 is Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Midwestern Mechanical. The first 500 fans will receive a full team set of Stampede player cards, along with a scratch-off card guaranteeing a prize. April 4 is Kids Night, presented by Children's Dental Center. Fans will also have the chance to take home a game-worn third jersey by purchasing raffle tickets benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Tickets are available now through the Stampede office or the KELOLAND Box Office at the PREMIER Center.
