SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today they have acquired goaltender
Ryan Cameron from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for the 2026-27 season in exchange for three draft selections.
Cameron appeared in 40 games for the RoughRiders this season, recording a 24-11-5 record, 2.92 goals-against average and .882 save percentage. The 6-foot, 175-pound netminder backstopped Cedar Rapids to a Clark Cup playoffs appearance in his first season in the United States Hockey League.
"I have known Ryan and his family for a long time and have had the opportunity to coach him at different points in his career," said head coach
Ryan Cruthers. "I am extremely excited to reunite and have him as part of our Stampede family. He is a proven winner, ultra-competitive, and impacts the team more than just saving pucks."
"I believe he will be a top goaltender in the league next season," added Cruthers.
During the 2024-25 campaign, he led the Lone Star Brahmas in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) to the Robertson Cup championship series runner-up finish, posting an 8-2 record, 1.67 GAA and .939 save percentage throughout the postseason. Cameron finished the regular season with a 21-6-1 record, 1.24 GAA and .948 save percentage in 30 appearances. As a result, he was named the 2025 Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year.
A native of Berwyn, Pa., Cameron was ranked 33rd among North American goaltenders eligible for the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings. He is committed to Boston College.
The Sioux Falls Stampede return to action in the 2026 Clark Cup playoffs with two road games against the Fargo Force at SCHEELS Arena in Fargo this weekend. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday and 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
