SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—The Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club earned an overtime win and one point in United States Hockey League play after a 3-2 victory over the Omaha Lancers.
The first period found a singular goal from the Lancers, forcing the Stampede to fight back from the 0-1 deficit for the remainder of the first period and entire second period. The Stampede's goaltender, Xavier Medina, stopped 22 shots in the first two periods of play.
Isaac Gordon got the Herd on the board with eight minutes and 48 seconds off of the clock in the third period. Gordon marked his eighth goal of the season off assists from Sam Harris and Nick Ring. The remaining half of the period was scoreless, sending the game into three-on-three overtime.

With a scoreless first four minutes of overtime, the possibility of a shootout loomed. With just 9.1 seconds left on the clock, Maddox Fleming found twine and ended the competition. Fleming's eighth goal of the season also earned a point for Nick Ring on the assist, marking Ring's 20
th assist, on the powerplay.
Medina marked his 17
th game between the pipes for the Stampede. He moves into the winning column, tallying his eight win of the season and sitting at 8-7-2. The Wayne, Mich. native holds a .916 save percentage, with 502 saves and a 2.83 goals against average in his 975 minutes.
The Stampede finished Hockey Day South Dakota by moving to 13-18-1 this season. The team is back in action at the Denny Sanford Premier Center for Wiener Dog Night on Feb. 4.
