Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede will kick off their 2024-2025 home schedule against the Lincoln Stars on Saturday. Home Opener festivities will start at 3:30 at the Birdcage for a pre-game tailgate. Doors to the PREMIER Center will open at 5:00 and the puck will drop at 6:05.
The Stampede will host the Lincoln Stars for their first home game of the 2024-2025 season. The two teams faced off six times last season and split the series evenly. They last played in Lincoln on March 29th where the Herd incurred a 5-1 loss.
The Stars are currently in second place in the Western Conference with a 3-1-0-0 record. They hosted the Green Bay Gamblers last weekend for a two-game series. Lincoln swept the series winning 9-1 on Friday night and taking a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday.
Sioux Falls enters their Home Opener with a 2-1 record after falling to the Sioux City Musketeers 6-3 Saturday night.
Festivities for the 2024 Home Opener will start at 3:30 at the Birdcage. The pre-game tailgate will run from 3:30-5:00 with inflatables available for kids. Thanks to PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bank Card, the first 1,000 kids through the door will receive a Stampede replica jersey. The jersey giveaway will be located in the Convention Center. Fans are encouraged to enter through the main PREMIER Center doors and head towards the Convention Center. The giveaway will be located in rooms 12-14 which are the first left when entering the Convention Center from the PREMIER Center. Signage and Stampede staff will be available to help direct fans.
Starting at the doors open, the concourse will be full of activities including face–painting, Chuck-a-Pucks will be available for purchase in the concourse. Fans will want to stay in their seats for the first intermission for the famous human slingshot.
If the Stampede score 4 goals on Saturday, fans will receive a free original chicken sandwich thanks to our friends at Chick-fil-A Empire Place. NOTE: To receive the free reward, fans will need to download the Chick-fil-A app, be logged in, and have location services turned on BEFORE entering the PREMIER Center. When the Stampede score their 4th goal, fans should pay attention to the PA announcer for further instructions on claiming their reward in the Chick-fil-A app! Limit of one sandwich per fan with the app.
Next week, the Stampede will host the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Cedar Rapids Rough Riders on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The puck will drop at 7:05 pm on Friday for Great Plains Zoo Night. Saturday is Sioux Falls Humane Society Night and the puck will drop at 6:05 pm.
