Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede are excited to announce their 2024-2025 Roster which consists of 16 forwards, nine defensemen, and three goaltenders. The Stampede welcome back nine returners, including forwards
John McNelis, and
Hayden Reid, and defensemen
Joe Belisle,
Alex Rybakov, and
Gennadi Chaly. The group will hit the ice for their first regular season games this weekend at the USHL Fall Classic.
Among the returners is defenseman Genadi Chaly. The University of Michigan commit scored 28 points in 58 games with the Stampede during the 2023-2024 season. They also welcomed back University of Denver commit
Hunter Anderson. The forward scored 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points last season.Â
In addition to their nine returners, the Stampede have added six players with USHL experience. This includes forward
Javon Moore who, in the past two seasons, has played seven games for the Stampede. Other players with USHL experience include forward
Sam Spehar and defenseman
Filip Nordberg, who both played games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks last season. Additionally, during the off-season, the Herd acquired goaltender
Aiden Wright from the Youngstown Phantoms. The Wake Forest, N.C. native started 22 games for the Phantoms during the regular season and earned a .902 save percentage.
The group's young core includes German-born
Noah Kosick. The 16-year-old was born in Germany but holds both Canadian and American citizenship. In 29 games last season, he earned 62 points with 12 goals and 50 assists. The 2008 born-player was among the first players to commit to a college hockey program, landing at the University of Michigan as his future home. Including Kosick, the Stampede roster has 24 DI college commits and 4 NHL Entry Level Draft picks.
In moves to finalize the roster, the Stampede traded returning forward
Grant Dillard and defenseman
Jake Delaney. In return for Dillard, the Herd received a 2025 11th-round USHL Phase II Draft Pick from the Omaha Lancers. The team received a 2025 Phase II 7th Round Pick in exchange for
Jake Delaney. The Stampede also acquired
Miroslav Satan from the Chicago Steel. The Slovakian is 6-foot-7 and 190 pound 18-year-old forward.Â
The Herd take the ice for two regular season games this weekend in Pittsburgh, P.A. for the annual USHL Fall Classic. At 4:00 PM CT on Saturday, the group will play Team USA NTDP and on Sunday at noon CT they will face off against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
